Time is going to kill my beautiful world

It may be the pace of my mind that took me far away to show me something like this, the last page of a diary that was ever to be written….

2057 May 9,

Today is my birthday, I lost 70 years of my life! The party was so grand. Hm… Anupama..., your children managed to send their private robots itself to greet their father. You are so lucky that you are not here to see all this. Am fed up now, why does nature still keep me as the oldest living human?.................. Oh, its getting over, the last drop of gel in my pen is gonna finish. Am so happy that I was able to use pen and paper so many years after their extinction because of my rare hobbies and habits... Anyway, I knew how to hold a pen!... Time killed my beautiful world…………..

Funny?.. I too felt funny when I thought up something like this, but the future is going to prove it true! Sometimes you all may not even have time to think of writing a diary like this!. Not only paper and pen, almost 50% of all the things that we use today are going to be extinct, may be ourselves too!...
No paper, no pen!.. How is that gonna happen?.. What all could replace them?.. The things that might have come to your mind by now may be a laptop, e-notebook, touchpad’s etc.. Yes, really they may be the things thats gonna replace pen and paper in the immediate future. However, more things are waiting to replace these toys also.
I don’t have the support of statistics theories to support all this, but am just trying to relate up things to make it up into a fiction, a fiction that is going to say about the end of the world!!....
If we would analyze human behavior from the very beginning itself, we can notice that he had a peculiarity… his eagerness and craving to find new things,.” All his life would be spent in search of something and at last he realizes that it was all futile”. There were days in history when time used to rule humans, he may have acted in all ways to push time in his life. He rolled up things around him and started to travel with time.. He found out new things in his each step, he became busy!... he gave up all the good old things when he found new ones, and the process is still going on. But one thing changed, time increased its speed and the pace with which humans react has also been changed. For instance, let’s look at mobile phones!. Is there anyone among us without mobile phones today?. It took only about 10 years for this to happen!!.. The fact is that mobile phones, along with internet replaced some amount of paper (letters of different for that came to their dear ones, love letters etc). ATM cards in banking sector replaced lots of paper, even the amount of money carried by a person has lessened considerably. All these examples shows that the speed of communication has increased, connectivity has increased… how many people used to have access to internet before 10 years, look at what happened now,. Broadband have replaced dial-up modems. Now the speed with which man could get connected across the world has increased, now everything is a click away from him……

The use of computers has created revolutions in the life of humans. In the beginning, the computers were big in size and now their appearance has changed a lot. Now the computers are so small and their capacity have increased to a great extend. Now desktops have changed to laptops, PDA’s etc. A computer is now so small as that it could be carried in ones hand!.. Now one of the worlds most discussed topic is Nanotechnology, Nanotechnology could help us to make a computer so small so that even an ant could use it. This example shows that the size of powerful objects has become so small!!..

Nanotechnology also could make us able to embed almost all the books written in this world to a small device of the size of a watch. If we get almost all information’s that way then what’s the point in carrying huge books?.. now a days western world , laptops are used from school level itself, those students need not carry note books or pen with them, their test books will be in the form of e-books!. This trend will not take much time to spread all over the world, Look, by how much the use of paper and pen have decreased. Newspapers!.. the most used thing all around the world daily. At least some of you might have heard that a thing known as e-paper has already been discovered. It would look like a normal paper, but would be controlled electronically. Things are written on it like that on a LCD screen. Most probably tomorrows newspaper would be e-newspapers!!., so that we need to buy a newspaper only once and news would be updated as long as it works. The e-newspapers may have a service provider like our mobile phones. These papers would be small as an A4 size paper and so would be easy to carry with. They may be touch sensitive and could provide live news in it with videos. They would more probably have a history button to search for old news! Therefore, there will be no use in stocking old newspapers. It’s not dramatic that the population is going to be double in coming years, so almost all the woods would be cleared off for construction. That way the paper production is going to vanish. Slowly the age of papers comes to an end and books and papers would become museum exhibits!!..

Biotechnology, microbiology, bio informatics, genetic engineering etc are hot subjects now a days where studies are going on and on about how to enhance human life. They are trying to improve the quality of each cells of the human body by improving all the things used by humans.

I have started with the extinction of paper. But more prominently, I have discussed about three important factors that greatly influenced humans – connectivity, reduced size of materials and technologies to improve human aspects!!.. Now the conclusion to this article is going to be made by combining these factors. With the passage of time, these three fields would join hands and work together, so that small sized high performance electronic devices would be made in the size of human cells, they may be called as e-cells. With the help of that branch of science that is making artificial parts of human body, it could also be able to embed the e-cells into human body!.. The e-cells may be programmed to work in human body, they would replicate as human cells and would grow and spread in all parts of human body. As I said these are high performance programmable cells, now the human beings would start stimulating them. They would program these cells to get all the necessary information and to do different tasks. With time, he might be able to program his brain itself and would become an e-human with an e-brain!. They are not robots, they are identical to humans in all aspects, but using integrated technologies!.. Now each human being could act as a super computer. He might have an I/O device in his hand to control him or may be his eye itself may act as a screen and he could also input things into him by just thinking or saying about what to do. They would also have high-speed wireless connectivity anywhere. By doing this, almost all information’s in this world would be available at his will and he could talk about any thing in this universe in a matter of seconds. If each human try this, then there will be no difference between any one in this world and they would be equal (because everyone know everything). Sometimes he would not even have to study anything, when a child becomes five or six years he would be programmed, hence no need of schooling!!...

Like this highly developed, next generation humans originate. They may be able to send information’s between one another, in this way humans would become self sufficient and immobile. Now he need not have to move around to work (if needed to move, they may have robotic assistants), so he no longer would be a social being!. Almost everything can be done within himself by simply sitting without the use of gadgets and that is the reason why I said that almost 50% of things used by humans today would become extinct!..

However, the sad side of this tale is that since these are programmed systems, the chance of being hacked into by another person is high! Sometimes one person would be able to control another!. Until the day humanity exists, he may have all his worst qualities within himself like ego, selfishness, eagerness etc. If one e-human start thinking in a negative way, it could affect almost all.. At that time sometimes the most wanted terrorist may be a perfect hacker. He could use the human power in any way he wishes!.. Probably this would kick off a third world war, the e-war!!.. moreover, am so sure that this world does not have the strength to survive such a war. Finally, that would lead to the destruction of humanity, of the world!!

Approximately all these changes could occur within a period of 50 years from now since life is going so fast now!!..That is why in the beginning I cited the example of a diary page, which was written by a man 50 years into the future. He, who was not willing to program his body like e-humans because of his rare habits. Surely, some people would be there like this, but their power would be puny to resist the harm and outrages of the e-humans!!... Hm…., I have a beautiful world, but alas! time is going to kill it!!.....
