Nothing lasts forever..
Yesterday I was on my way from Thiruvananthapuram at about 5.30 in the evening. The train i got into was supposed to leave by 5.45. As i always do, found seat near a window. The train wasn't that crowded like usual but was late. From everyones face i could read their tiredness, maybe after their work or their studies or they may be tired wandering just like me. It wasnt deep dark but cloudy and I was eager to reach home. After a long wait the train started moving. A cold breeze tickled through the window onto my face and i was waiting for the rain drops. I love to see the nature in that way, because it alwayz made me think of those sweet things of my past.
The train was reaching veli station, i saw VSSC, those rocks under that huge old tree, that long stretch of road with yellow leaves on either sides. My heart really skipped a beat and took me some months back, those sweet moments with my friends there.
I cud remember the first day in VSSC. Holding the call letter, we were waiting lifeless in the PRO's office for a project guide to do our Btek project. It was another waste day and we lost our hope of doing the project there. The one funny thing happened that day was the incident which made an officer shout at my friend for carrying the phone book outside the PRO's office.
The next day, we went again and got a month sanctioned, the guides too. It was one of my delhi wala friend's sincere trials result.
Thanks pal..!
There were 3 batches from our college, 12 people. More than our project, we enjoyed our time there. On the way to the main building the huge rocks under the tree caught our sight in the very first day itself and soon it beacame our rest place in between the project works. It was a hill side and the view from there was superb. Old banyan trees with hanging roots, distant view of the sea, distant passing by trains. All we cud only hear is the sound of nature the blowing breez, the chirping birds and the rusting leaves. Sitting there had given a mesmerizing charm and even there were days we used to sit there without doing de work.I was wondering how jobless we people were at that time.
The trips to veli beach, science museum, a visit to a hospitalized friend of ours, travellin in a trucker lorry and those miles we travelled on foot, all fresh in my mind as happened last moment.
The unforgetable incident in the month was running from Veli Railway station to station to kazhakkoottam station to fetch a train. Actually we were wrongly informed that its just a 10 minutes walk but we ran and ran and ran. Atlast after an hour we reached just to miss the train. But it was all fun.
And now I hope that i could never step there in again. Even though if i can, those things wont happen again...na?
Those sweet times are only sweet memories now!
